Also, here is a research I found : http://www.all-soy-products.com/soy-protein.php

But I’m not sure which I’m going to follow. Hope somebody has some tips to give me.

Washington, DC — With the Senate health committee convening daily to craft a comprehensive health reform bill, the basic outline of this landmark legislation is now clear.

Yes, it will ensure access to affordable, quality care for every American. But, just as important, it will hold down health care costs by creating a sharp new emphasis on disease prevention and public health.

As the lead Senator in drafting the Prevention and Public Health section of the bill, I view this legislation as our opportunity to recreate America as a genuine wellness society – a society that is focused on prevention, good nutrition, fitness, and public health.

It means that the government is going to dictate what you will eat, how much, and when. If you refuse to exercise or eat they way they want, then you won’t get any Obama care. If you smoke, you won’t get care. And what they aren’t telling anyone is that the care will be managed and rationed. If you are old, you won’t get any care either. This will be an excellent solution to the baby boomers entering retirement. The government can eliminate a good portion of them by refusing health care treatments and when they die, social security won’t have to pay out as much either. Beware of socialized medicine. It sounds good on the surface but you better never get sick because you don’t get treatment, you will be placed on a list. People in England and Canada die on the waiting lists.

An online fitness program is an effective and affordable way to get in shape. Online fitness programs provide customized, expert advice on exercise and nutrition in a convenient, interactive, and dynamic environment. Video demonstrations, exercise instructions, guidance and support are all available at the click of a mouse.

Online fitness training is much less expensive than hiring a personal trainer, and a personal trainer can typically only offer advice related to his or her individual field of expertise. Most online fitness programs offer the advice of multiple experts in various fields of expertise. And online fitness programs are also frequently updated, providing you with the latest research and information in the health and fitness industry.

If you’re new to fitness, it’s oftentimes difficult to know where to begin, and designing your own fitness program can sometimes be frustrating and time consuming. An online fitness program can help you eliminate unnecessary time and confusion by providing you with the most effective and enjoyable methods for achieving the exact results you want. And the more effective and enjoyable your fitness program is, the more likely you’ll be to stick with it for the long term.

There are a lot of online fitness programs on the market, so how can you tell the good ones from the not so good ones? Here are five key features that a good online fitness program will offer:

1. A fitness program that is customized to your individual needs and goals, not a one-size-fits-all program. The program should include a personalized nutrition plan and a personalized exercise plan.

2. Your own online personal fitness trainer who will oversee your progress over the entire program.

3. Access to multiple experts in various fields of expertise who can provide you with any information or advice that you may need.

4. Instructional videos and materials.

5. A 100% money-back guarantee.

If you’ve been struggling to lose weight or to get more fit and healthy, an online fitness program might be just what you need.

I’ve heard that taking too much vitamin K orally can put your health at risk. I can understand thats why each multivitamin tablet only has 25% vitamin K, but the fresh spinach leaves that come in a bag (in the produce isle of the grocery store) have like 500% vitamin K (it says so on the nutrition label only on some packages) and well I eat them frequently. This might sound dumb, but would it be safe to eat the whole bag. lol. I’ve always just wondered that.

Yes dear this is very true I am on blood thinner and I ahve to watch how much green leafy veg. I eat.
They contain vitamin K

i just found out that im 4 weeks pregnant ( first baby ) and im worried about my health and nutrition, im not schedule to see a obgyn until nov. 17th

im overweight with high blood pressure, i have a very hard time eating fruits and veggies so being that im pregnant should i force myself to eat them ? i just started taking prenatal vitamins that i bought from walmart

my sister says i need to stop stressing on what i eat because the main things that i need for a healthy baby and prenancy is folic acid and calcium

so can someone please give me some good pointers? i am so clueless about what i should be doing.

what can i expect to happen at my first visit to the obgyn ?

Depending on your doctor, at the first visit they will take your blood pressure, weigh you, and give you a general outline. Sometimes doctors will take that opportunity to draw some blood and do various tests to see what health issues you may be at risk for – though sometimes that waits until the second appointment.

I too do not like fruits or veggies very much, but I still try to eat them as much as possible because it IS important for your growing baby. One thing I have found to help is to make fruit smoothies – get some frozen strawberries, and some no sugar added juice and blend them together for a healthy snack.

Also, you need to drink plenty of water, get a lot of fiber and protien.

Omlettes with cheese are a good thing to eat for breakfasts, try to incorporate a salad or some carrot sticks into your day – and just try to keep moderate eating habits.

I guess I’m just tired of everyone trying to lose weight without putting in the hard work, thinking situps make you get abs and believing negative calorie foods exist….

Come on people, don’t you reckon if it was that easy we would all have toned athletic bodies!

I guess my real question is to the fitness and nutrition freaks out there who know a thing or two, what inspires you to keep training and furthering your knowlege of health & fitness? Do you think people in the "real world" (verus the "cyber world") are as naive? And if there are any personal trainers out there, are your clients as painful as many on here?

As someone who has become a fitness and nutrition "freak" over the past 9 months, my motivation is constantly finding ways to live healthier and treat the only body I have as best I can. I have a lot of friends who have seen my success and want to also lose weight … but they just don’t want to exercise or eat better. They also want the easy way out.

But basically I just wanted to say that I AGREE with you 110% and I’m so tired of people not wanting to exercise just because they are too lazy. Call it harsh but it’s laziness. If you’re happy with your body, more power to you, but you cannot expect to lose weight without work.

You should already know that nutrition is very important to your quality of life. If you want to have a healthy life and lifestyle, you will need to have a healthy diet with proper nutrition. You might hear all the time that your nutrition greatly affects the way you live and your quality of life but have you ever really thought about why? Do you really understand why it is so important?

If you really want to take the steps to live the long life that you deserve and to be as healthy as possible and enjoy those years, than you need to learn all you can about the importance of optimal nutrition.  What you eat really affects your body and health.

1. What is optimal nutrition?
2. What nutrients do you need to be healthy?
3. What foods give you these nutrients?

Importance of Optimal Nutrition

Optimal nutrition is very important to your overall health and fitness. Studies have shown that people can actually live longer if they have healthy nutrition. It is proven that there is a link between optimal nutrition and long life and long term health.

If you take a look at society, you will notice an increasingly large number of people that are overweight and obese. You will also see problems such as poor teeth and acne, dry, brittle skin, dry hair and other problems. You will find many people on medications for headache, stomach problems, acid reflux, constipation, heart disease, high blood pressure and more. What may be more alarming than the high amount of medications is the fact that most people receive very little information about what is actually causing their disease or condition. Instead, they get a pill.

What many people never know is that what they are eating (or not eating) can be causing these health problems.  You also need to understand that you will have to make changes and adjustments to your intake over the years and stages of your life. Just like toddlers need a different diet from teenagers, you also need to alter your diet as you continue through all of life’s stages. Understanding what is best for you through each stage of your life is the best way to remain in optimal health.

Micro and Macronutrients

Many people hear that they need proper nutrition but just what does that mean exactly? What nutrients do you need to be healthy? Optimal nutrition will include a variety of different micronutrients and macronutrients. Micronutrients include certain vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Macronutrients include carbohydrates, proteins and fats that make up the foods you eat.

There is too often a lot of myth surrounding the nutrients, our bodies and how we use these nutrients. This is why it is very important that you get all the facts when planning to change your lifestyle and diet. Many people are suffering from malnutrition and may not even know it. Many overweight individuals may be suffering from malnutrition. Just because you are eating does not mean you are eating the right things.

Micronutrients are the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that your body needs to be healthy. The specific ones and amounts of each will depend on your body, sex, age and other factors. Every person is different so there is not one set plan that works for everyone. You need to learn what works for you. As you change, grow older, etc. this will change again and you will continue to have to adjust this.

Macronutrients are the carbs, proteins and fats that you get from foods. The amounts of these that you need will vary as well. This is where many myths come in about what you should or should not eat. The facts are that too much of anyone can be bad and not enough can be bad. It’s all about finding a balance. This means those “All-Carb” or “No Carb” diets that are so popular on the market are really not the best thing for you.

What you choose to ingest in your body has a big impact on your overall health and your general well-being. People now eat more fast foods and frozen dinners and other quick meals that are not very nutritious at all. Some of these foods even have additives in them that can make them addictive so that you want more and more. People typically eat out of hunger and many of these foods do not work to satisfy your hunger leaving you wanting more or something else. Yet, they still have many calories and fat and other things that your body does not need.

Make the Committment

If you are serious in obtaining optimal health to the best of your ability, then take a look at your lifestyle in general. Are you eating the right foods? Are you exercising? Are you getting plenty of fresh air on a daily basis? Do you have positive relationships? If you find yourself answering “no” to these questions, then make the commitment to change. Talk with your family, friends, or a nutritionist. Check to see if there are support groups in your area related to health and lifestyle changes. Look into joining your local gym. Do your research and then purchase the right nutritional supplements that will help you achieve your goals.

If you at least try to make a change in one area, more are sure to follow! You are now on your way to optimal health.

Ok, so maybe I am a lil sceptical. But, I have two older kids who grew up just fine without vitamins, they got their nutrition through their food. Anyway, my youngest, 19weeks old, just had his four month check up and the doctor prescribed baby vitamin drops. My son is in perfect health… average height and weight. The doc said the AAP is advising that babies start taking these. It has vitamin D and flouride in it. Apparently where we live, they don’t flouridate the water, and the bottled water we drink has no flouride in it. These drops are supposed to have a 40% less occurrance of cavaties if taken.
I am just concerned because we seem to pump a lot of synthetic junk into our kids these days all in the name of ‘health’. My older sons never went to a dentist for a teeth cleaning until they were 6 yrs old each, and that is because when they were little the dentist wouldn’t even see them until 6 yrs old… now we got told that it is a preference and should be between when they get their first tooth and 2 yrs old… I am sorry but that sounds like I am lining someones pockets, not doing anything to benefit my child. Also, my kids never took vitamins because when they were younger it was felt that unless they were deficient somehow, you didn’t take them… now they prescribe them at 4 months old! So, I am just a little concerned about using these. I have seen over the years people who follow ‘trends’ with their infants and sometimes have a bad outcome. (Funny how the trend following doesnt happen with older kids, we must have it figured out by then, lol)
I just noticed with this baby that there are a lot of ‘sheep’ out there. Vitamins, breast feeding, formula feeding, solids feeding, vaccines… wow … a lot of huge opinions to be had… I just remember with my older two that you just… well, parented. Did what you needed to do when you needed to do it. Now it is like you have to follow some kind of secret rule book with all these do’s and don’ts.. and vitamins for an infant… IDK… I just want to know if they are safe.

My question is… has anyone else used these kinds of drops – and have there been any side effects from them?

They have been recommended for breastfed babies for years during the winter months. You may opt to buy nursery water which contains flouride as an alternate

If you are thinking of venturing on a weight reduction mission but do not consider starving yourself on a crash diet of any significant value, nor are you interested in putting in any effort like swimming or aerobics, then walking is the best possible solution available. Walking is one of the easiest and most efficient ways to embark on your fitness program. Including a health and fitness program consisting of brisk walking is the ideal form of exercise that will not only help you with your weight loss program, but will also enable you to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.

If you do not favor push-ups or abdominal crunches or do not have the time due to a busy work schedule, then it is better to take a brisk walk. It is recommended to walk early in the morning since the air in the early morning is not only fresh but also void of any pollution. Also, after a good night sleep, your body is relaxed. All these factors together work to enhance your physical condition and promote mental health. In other words, it encourages the overall development and improvement of your body.

Although, it may take some months, before the results are visible but you will certainly feel more active and charged. It will provide a boost to your energy levels and your body metabolism. This will enable you to lose weight faster. Here are a few tips on walking that can be easily accommodated into your daily exercise regime:

1. Before starting any exercise program, you need to make sure that you will stick to it on a daily basis. Only will then any fitness program be of any help in reducing your weight.

2. Another important criterion for walking to be effective in order to lose weight is that firstly, you need a leveled ground to walk on and a good pair of shoes. It is very important that the shoes be comfortable while walking.

3. If brisk walking is not possible then slow walking is also as effective. You can also lose those extra inches and burn the unwanted calories by slow walking. Due to gravity, slow walking makes your body drag. This dragging in turn enables your body to lose weight.

4. Merely losing weight should not be your aim. Due attention should also be paid to maintaining the desired weight after losing it or else all your efforts will go in vain.

5. Once you have succeeded in losing weight, you can maintain it by increasing the intensity, by walking faster and for a longer distance.

6. Only exercising is not sufficient to keep you healthy and fit. In addition to walking, you also need to observe regular eating and sleeping habits. This is of vital importance or else you body will not get the required nutrition and rest and your health will start deteriorating due to exercise in the absence of proper food and sleep.

7. All other bodily functions and heart circulations will significantly improve.
